From the beginning of this class I knew I wanted to do something with hearts. Because I got the nine of hearts the first thing that came into my mind was the cat of nine tails, which is a whip used in older times. The man is something that I guess I kind of made up.
Making the hearts look like they were actually three dimensional was really difficult. Because of the medium of oil pastels, I was able to really bring out dimensions. The arms were hard to do because I couldn't make it look dimensional.
I really enjoy the idea behind this image. Unfortunately I didn't really do as good of a job as I wanted. I think my biggest issue is how one dimensional it is. Also I really dislike the arms.
